RIPTIDE

Riptide, an on going project initially created in my Lauderdale by the Sea, FL studio.

This body of work continues my exploration of the natural world in an effort to create a more perfect alternative, a world expressed in my personal vocabulary. A riptide is a strong current of water that flows away from the shore of the sea. As a painter, I produce a strong current of energy that flows away from the shore of “everyday.” Like a riptide in the sea pulls the swimmer away from the safety of the shore, these paintings pull the viewer away from the safety of everyday into the sea of the unknown.
